PUPPY!

Well it has been a long time once again since we posted anything and hopefully you all got our Christmas Letter which has all of our updates since we bought our home in Elk River, Minnesota back in July. We have been busy getting the house set up, Emily has been working hard and we have been taking care of all of our animals, plus I will be starting my new job back with the BSA on January 1st. We are also getting a PUPPY!!! "Cleo" will be joining us in Minnesota on January 6th and we are very excited! She is a purebred all black German Shepherd. She is just 6 weeks old and we got to see her for the first time yesterday. Here are some of her pictures...

As soon as we get her home in January, we will post more pictures. Hope you had a wonderful holiday and we wish you a Happy New Year!

Best wishes,

Jamie & Emily

The Offer

We are back from Colorado and had a great trip. We will post pictures sometime next week. We went hiking, whitewater rafting on Class 4 & 5 rapids and had a great time in the Rocky Mountains. Then, it was back to New Jersey for the night before our morning flight to Minnesota on Thursday for our first-ever house hunting trip.

And now...It is official, we have made our first offer on our first home! We are waiting anxiously for the sellers to get back to us with an acceptance or a counter-offer and we will go from there. Hopefully by tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon we will know the latest update and we will share it all with you. But for now, here is the link to the home that we are hoping to buy: http://www.cbburnet.com/CustomModules/Property/PropertyDetail.aspx?SearchID=11116868&PropertyGUID=6A457E23-1586-4717-A6DB-6AA3CAFE0F5B&TotalRows=5&CurrentPage=3&SortValue=0&LastResultsPage=1&IsSold=False
Check it out!

We saw 18 houses today, some good, some great and some bad, and we are exhausted but so excited at the same time. We will keep you posted on the updates!

All the best,
Jamie and Emily

Been a looooooong time coming!

Hey All,
We are so sorry for the delay in posting on our blog for the past year. We have been soooooo busy and there is so much going on for us right now so we figured that we would give you an update of what is happening in our lives.

First of all, all of the animals are doing great. We still have the 3 cats (Oscar, Amos & Tux) and George (horse) just turned 3 yesterday and is getting so big. He is doing well and Emily has been breaking him in with riding him.

Over the past year we also leased another horse for us to ride, RU Miss Kitty, a 7 year old Buckskin Quarter Horse. While Emily took Kitty on trots and fox hunts, Jamie took her on some nice trail rides. It was tough at times trying to get out and ride while also working so much, but as you can see, Jamie was able to ride and e-mail at the same time.

(Kids, Do NOT try this at home...I am a trained professional!)

Now on to us. A lot of changes are getting ready to take place in our lives, it seems like only a little time ago we were getting married and moving up to New Jersey. Well, that was almost 5 years ago and now it is time to move again. This time, to the "frozen land" of Minneapolis, MN. That's right, the Lamprechts are moving back to the Central Time Zone! Emily has accepted a position with Cargill's Animal Nutrition Program as the Innovative Development Manager for Cargill's Equine Program. For those of you who do not know, Cargill is the producer of Nutrena Horse Feed. She will start there on August 1st, 2009. So a lot has to be done between now and then. Emily is also finishing up her last assay and writing her dissertation and will be defending in early to mid July. Also during this time, we are taking a little trip to Keystone, Colorado later this week, as Emily will be presenting all of her work at a conference and then we have a few days of vacation built in with some hiking and whitewater rafting. We will make sure to post some pictures when we get a chance. Then it will be a trip back to NJ for and overnight stay at home before repacking and heading out to Minnesota for a house hunting trip. We have been looking at tons of homes online and with the help of our realtor, we will be checking out quite a few homes during our 5 day visit to Minnesota in early June. Wish us luck as we look to purchase our first home together!

After we get back, it will be about a week until Jamie leaves to go back to camp for his 3rd summer as the Camp Director at Kittatinny Mountain Scout Reservation in Northern, NJ. For two months he will develop character and provide leadership for the youth of America...and make sure that they have the best summer of their life while at KMSR. During his time at camp, Emily will be moving to Minnesota, with the help of a moving company and her mom coming up to make the drive as they haul George in the trailer to Minnesota. After the summer is over and Jamie has completed his duties with the Central New Jersey Council, BSA, he will move up to Minnesota around September 1st to join Emily. While he doesn't have a job lined up quite yet, he is working with his boss to get transferred within the BSA to the Minneapolis Boy Scout Council, one of the 4 largest councils in America. Stay tuned for more on that.
That is about it for right now, as you can tell, we have A LOT going on in our lives and it is sure to be a fun, exciting and busy summer for both of us. Let us know how you are doing, we love hearing from you. Take care!

All the best,
Jamie and Emily Lamprecht

Emily Home

Emily was finally discharged from the hospital last night. She has a long road to recovery. On the ride home, every little bump hurt. She is now in her bed and on some good pain killers. Oscar is keeping her comfortable and is not leaving her side. Not too much else to report. We are going to call the doctor in the morning and set up a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks, until then, Emily is just relaxing and recovering at home.

Emily - Day #2

Emily had a good night last night and got some sleep. This morning, the doctor came in and removed the bandage from her incision and it looks good. They took her off of IV fluids and had her sit in a chair for about three hours and she ate her first real meal. She drifts off to sleep while reading and is managing her pain pretty well. She is ready to get back into bed and snooze the day away. She has the bed next to the window, so she gets to look outside and see the 80 degree sunny day we are having. Emily wanted me to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers as well as the flowers from her mom and Rachel & Dennis...they really brighten up the hospital room. I will keep you updated more tonight, we have a few guests stopping by today to say hi. Keep it shaking in St. Louis, I hope you all are ok after the earthquake.

Emily Recovering

No, I am not going to put a photo of Emily up. That would just be mean. So here it is...Just Kidding!

Emily is recovering from her surgery this morning and is in high spirits. The surgery was a success and the recovery has started. She will be in the hospital for a few days and then home on bed rest for 2 weeks. The doctor was very satisfied with how everything went and is very optimistic on Emily's recovery. I am keeping Emily company while she is at the hospital and catering to her every need. She must be feeling better because she just asked me to check "Tack of the Day" for her. She never stops! Well, I will try to post more now that I am playing doctor/nurse for her for the next 2 weeks! We love hearing from you!
